The Los Angeles Local Member Network (LMN, OBCA-LA) is off to a strong start. Started by Kevin Young of CDR Data, and facilitated by Kevin with Mark Walter of Barrister Executive Suites, the LMN has had four meetings since its inception in December of 2008.
“Kevin Young and Mark Walter have been a major driving force. It is fantastic to see a group finally coming together in LA!,” said Carrie Gates, Barrister Executive Suites. “I think this group is really ready to take it to the next level, and we can expect to see some very positive achievements in 2010! We‘ve established ourselves now as a good area networking group with common interests, and now we need to move the LMN to the next level and show some ROI to our members.”
“Our goal is to educate and reinforce the value of executive suites in this time of recovery for some and new opportunities for others. We offer excellent and creative office space solutions for companies and entrepreneurs who need to downsize, restructure, or start a new business. Our solutions are more flexible, cost effective, and reliable than the competing sublease space and work/live lofts. The LMN is an amazing collaborative group of competitors that shares a uniform excitement and need to spread awareness and increase the value of the general executive suite industry,” said Jenny Ahn, Regional Director, Regent Business Centers. “We want to reach out to BOMA, SBA, Corenet and our local brokers as well – both online and traditional,” she said.
At the group’s last meeting in August hosted on the roof top garden of Barrister Executive Suites’ Kenquest location in Beverly Hills at sunset by Mark Walter, attendees enjoyed an excellent presentation from Brittney Coleman, with OfficeBroker.com from Texas. Over 30 attendees participated at that meeting. A subsequent meeting November 12th hosted by Peggy Duffy of Esquire Executive Suites focused on brainstorming local objectives and discussing the LMN’s 2010 Officers. CDR Data served as the sponsor of both events, donating several raffle prizes. The group is working on securing a speaker from the local Economic Development Council for their next meeting in March.
