Carolina Rendeiro Inaugurated as New OBCAI President

Carolina Rendeiro [Business Centers International] was inaugurated as the new President of OBCAI on Saturday, September 26th at the association’s annual international education conference. She takes over from Carrie Gates [Barrister Executive Suites]. Javier Garcia –Iza [IOS Offices] was announced as the new President-Elect.

“I want to put the I in OBCAI” Carolina said in her conversational-style remarks to the membership. She also emphasized that in the coming year she will emphasize producing webinars in Spanish a first for OBCAI as well as scheduling Webinars at a time of day that is zone convenient for all members, including Asia and the Middle East.

“I want to work with our associate members in Latin American, Spain and Europe I want us to share best practices – we all have a lot to offer. We as an association cannot be International if we do not make a concerted effort in reaching out to our counterparts and to our members by offering them programs specific to their needs, they then will feel part of us. If we unify, more operators will look to join us.” In an interview, Rendeiro also felt that “as an OBC member, we should be able to pick up the phone and call a colleague use them as resources for our own clients. Why can’t we do this as an industry with our members? I would like to see us do more of things like that. It’s what associations should do.”

Carolina Rendeiro has over 29 years of experience in the office business center industry. She has served as an active spokesperson in her field, contributed articles for industry publications and has been interviewed by local and international media with regards to the industry over the years.

Having entered the industry in 1978, some of her accomplishments include; conducting seminars in various cities within the United States and throughout the world; serving as a consultant to business center owners; and assisting in site selections of future centers for building owners in various countries while providing them with a complete turnkey management of an office center.

Carolina currently serves on the Executive Committee of 8 various Boards including; University of Miami Citizens Board (UM), Florida International University (FIU Foundation), CREW Miami, Beacon Council (Economic Development Group for South Florida), The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, The Rhythm Foundation and The Miami Council for International Visitors. Her list of Special Acknowledgements includes:
