Carrie Gates Ends Presidential Term on High Note

Carrie Gates

Carrie Gates [Barrister Executive Suites] recently completed her one-year term as President of OBCAI, handing over the reigns of the association to incoming President Carolina Rendeiro [Business Centers International] at an emotional luncheon held on September 26th at the OBCAI annual conference in San Diego.

Presiding over a term that occurred during an unquestionably difficult time for the office business center industry, Carrie and OBCAI had several significant achievements. Among them was the compilation of a comprehensive industry Financial Study [the industry survey]; the implementation of a social media strategy; and the restructuring of the association’s management team.

Additionally, under Carrie’s tenure, OBCAI started 3 new Local Member Networks; held a very successful ‘LMN Unity Day Video Conference’; provided 7 excellent webinars for the membership and produced an excellent annual conference in San Diego. Internally, OBCAI also expanded the association’s ‘Green Initiative’; formalized the eligibility, criteria and benefits of their service and recognition awards and set policy and standards in several areas, including Whistleblower; Conflict of Interest; Document Retention; Code of Ethics and Anti-Trust policies.
